FEBRUARY 26, 2001

Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on Monday, February 26, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers City Hall.

Present: Mayor Phil De Vos, Councillors Arnelien, DeRyk, Fromm, Goulden, Wegner and Wyatt.

Staff Members Present: Laurie-Anne Rusnak, Bill Hawkins, Stu McFadyen, Jerry Cheshuk, Terri Eger, Lonnie Kaal, Jim Ennis, Jody Hauta, Scott Mack, and Horatio Gnyp. Recording: Gloria Signarowski.

A quorum being present Mayor Phil De Vos in the Chair called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Bylaw No. 1/2001 – Dog Bylaw (3rd reading)

A memorandum dated February 19, 2001 from the City Clerk/Director of Personnel regarding suggested amendments to Bylaw No. 1/2001 was circulated for the consideration of Council.

That Dog Bylaw No. 1/2001, Part I – Definitions be amended by adding the following wording as 2x) and renumbering the subsequent definitions accordingly:

"Public Playground" means the immediate delineated area containing playground equipment in a park or municipal reserve owned by the City or under the management and control of the City, excepting Jaycee Beach."

A memorandum dated February 21, 2001 from the Principal Urban Planner along with pertinent background information regarding a proposed residential subdivision on SE Ό Section 5-26-4-W2nd were circulated for the consideration of Council.

That the Council of the City of Yorkton approve the proposed subdivision application for the SE Ό Section 5-26-4-W2nd (Peter and Ivy Stout) as presented in the Saskatchewan Municipal Affairs, Culture and Housing letter of February 7, 2001, as it complies with the Yorkton Planning District Development Plan Bylaw No. 13/94 and the Yorkton Planning District Zoning Bylaw No. Z2-94.

Director of Leisure Services

Sand Bunker Development Project at Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.

A memorandum dated February 21, 2001 from the Director of Leisure Services regarding the Sand Bunker Development Project at Deer Park Municipal Golf Course was circulated for the consideration of Council.

That the Council of the City of Yorkton authorize Leisure Services to negotiate a price not to exceed $30,000.00, and a contract with Golf Shape Construction Ltd. to complete the development of the bunkers at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.
