SPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES
DECEMBER 3, 2001
Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held on Monday, December 3, 2001 in
Council Chambers City Hall commencing at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor Phil De Vos, Councillors Arnelien, DeRyk, Fromm, Wegner and
Absent: Councillor Goulden.
Staff Members Present: Wayne Jensen, Laurie-Anne Rusnak, Lonnie Kaal, Jody
Hauta, Stu McFadyen, Gord Bulmer and Jim Ennis. Recording: Gloria Signarowski.
A quorum being present Mayor Phil De Vos in the Chair called the Special
Meeting of Council to order at 7:00 p.m.
That the Agenda for this Special Meeting of Council be approved with one item
being the fire truck purchase and financing.
FIRE TRUCK PURCHASE AND FINANCING
A memorandum dated November 27, 2001 from the Director of Finance regarding
financing of the fire truck was circulated for the consideration of Council.
Discussion was held on this matter.
That we recommend financing the 2000 Model E One fire truck purchase by
providing an internal loan for $261,500 at 5% compounded annually with the first
payment of $60,400 made in advance (beginning of 2002). Final payment of
$44,406.76 to be made the beginning of 2006.
Discussion was held on preventative maintenance for major equipment.
Council requested that a report be brought forward from Administration on
preventative maintenance in all departments.
That Council request Administration to prepare a report on the Preventative
Maintenance Program as it is and as it should be in the City of Yorkton for
major equipment as soon as reasonably possible.
That this Special Meeting of Council adjourn at 7:16 p.m.
