SPECIAL COUNCIL MINUTES

DECEMBER 3, 2001

 

 

Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held on Monday, December 3, 2001 in Council Chambers City Hall commencing at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Mayor Phil De Vos, Councillors Arnelien, DeRyk, Fromm, Wegner and Wyatt.

Absent: Councillor Goulden.

Staff Members Present: Wayne Jensen, Laurie-Anne Rusnak, Lonnie Kaal, Jody Hauta, Stu McFadyen, Gord Bulmer and Jim Ennis. Recording: Gloria Signarowski.

A quorum being present Mayor Phil De Vos in the Chair called the Special Meeting of Council to order at 7:00 p.m.

That the Agenda for this Special Meeting of Council be approved with one item being the fire truck purchase and financing.

FIRE TRUCK PURCHASE AND FINANCING

A memorandum dated November 27, 2001 from the Director of Finance regarding financing of the fire truck was circulated for the consideration of Council.

Discussion was held on this matter.

Arnelien – Wyatt

That we recommend financing the 2000 Model E One fire truck purchase by providing an internal loan for $261,500 at 5% compounded annually with the first payment of $60,400 made in advance (beginning of 2002). Final payment of $44,406.76 to be made the beginning of 2006.

Carried.***

Discussion was held on preventative maintenance for major equipment. Council requested that a report be brought forward from Administration on preventative maintenance in all departments.

That Council request Administration to prepare a report on the Preventative Maintenance Program as it is and as it should be in the City of Yorkton for major equipment as soon as reasonably possible.
