Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on Monday, April 12, 2010 in Council Chambers City Hall commencing at 5:00 p.m.

Present: Mayor James Wilson, Councillors Arnelien, Fisher, Maloney, Okrainec, Pearen and Wyatt.

Staff Members Present: David Putz, Bonnie Schenher, Lonnie Kaal, Darcy McLeod, Michael Eger, Michael Buchholzer, Fran Brimacombe, Don Kunkel, and Dean Clark. Recording: Gloria Signarowski.

A quorum being present Mayor James Wilson in the Chair called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Okrainec congratulated everyone involved in the Spring Expo that took place on the weekend at the Gallagher Centre. The Yorkton Exhibition and the Lions Club have put on another great event.

Mayor Wilson also advised that the Yorkton Exhibition 4-H Show was also held with 30 different clubs in attendance and about 150 kids. In addition to that congratulations to the Yorkton Terriers, the Board, and to Coach Trent. They represented us well and we are proud of them.

A letter dated April 7, 2010 from the Yorkton Partnership Against Violence Committee regarding a proclamation was circulated for the consideration of Council.
Ms. Lauretta Ritchie-McInnes from the Yorkton Partnership Against Violence Committee was present to speak to their request.

Director of Finance – Fire Hall – Intent to Borrow

A report dated April 6, 2010 from the Director of Finance regarding the intent to borrow $7,500,000 to fund the construction of the Fire Hall was circulated for the consideration of Council.

That Administration advertise and request financing proposals to borrow $7,500,000 over 15 years to fund the construction of the Fire Hall.

A verbal thank you was expressed to all those involved with the construction of the Fire Hall. It was the direction of Council that the Mayor send a thank you letter out to those who headed the project.

Riverside Meadows Phase I – Land Fund

A report dated April 1, 2010 from the Director of Finance regarding the Riverside Meadows Phase I Subdivision was circulated for the consideration of Council.

A report dated March 31, 2010 from the Director of Finance regarding pricing of lots in the Riverside Meadows Phase II Subdivision was circulated for the consideration of Council.
