REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
JANUARY 24, 2011

Minutes of a Regular Council Meeting held on Monday, January 24, 2011 in Council Chambers City Hall commencing at 5:00 p.m.

Present: Mayor James Wilson, Councillors Arnelien, Fisher, Maloney, Pearen and Wyatt.

Absent: Councillor Richard Okrainec.

Staff Members Present: David Putz, Kim Durdin, Lonnie Kaal, Gord Shaw, and Michael Eger. Recording: Gloria Signarowski.

A quorum being present Mayor James Wilson in the Chair called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

That the Regular Council Agenda and Committee of the Whole Council Agenda be approved as presented.

PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Chris Wyatt advised he attended the Sportsman’s Dinner on Saturday to bring greetings on behalf of the City of Yorkton. Mr. Jeff Odgers was the Guest Speaker and Mr. Don Chesney was the Master of Ceremonies and is the current General Manager of the Terriers. There were over 300 people in attendance. Three players from other teams have been signed up for the Terriers. Councillor Wyatt encouraged everyone to get out and support the Terriers.

HEARING OF PETITIONS, PUBLIC NOTICES AND PRESENTATIONS

Proclamation – Kinsmen and Kinettes Week – February 14th to 20th, 2011

A letter dated January 12, 2011 received via email from the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs in Yorkton was circulated for the consideration of Council.
Mr. Jonas Haywood President of the Yorkton Kinsmen Club and Ms. Lana Klemetski, President of the Yorkton Kinettes were present in Council Chambers to speak to their request.

That Council authorize Mayor James Wilson to proclaim the week of February 14th to 20th, 2011 as “Kinsmen and Kinettes Week” in the City of Yorkton, that February 20th be declared “Kinsmen and Kinettes Day”, and also to raise their flag at City Hall Park on Monday, February 14th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
Carried.***

The Chair was passed to Deputy Mayor Fisher at 5:06 p.m. and it reverted back at 5:06 p.m.

Bylaw No. 4/2011 – Closure and Sale of Municipal Buffer Parcel B1 in Plan No. 74Y08889
