PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Wyatt acknowledged the 2013 Evan Johnson Tee-Off on Cancer Golf Tournament that took place on the 9th of August 2013. 112 golf players participated; we had a great time and it was a beautiful day. The staff at the Deer Park Golf Course treated everyone exceptionally well. The money raised went to buying an Interactive Med Cart for the nurses in our Chemotherapy Unit here in Yorkton so that they can sync their laptops, and can help people going through treatment to receive chemotherapy here and not have to drive to Regina to receive the treatment. 500 towels were raised for the cancer lodge in Regina for the people that do have to travel. Councillor Wyatt thanked all the golfers and all the business involved in this tournament.

Councillor Pearen acknowledged that the Yorkton Airport Authority is sponsoring an Open House & Display featuring the B17 Bomber. The Open House will take place Saturday August 24th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. and Sunday August 25th from 9 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Free admission to the grounds. On Saturday Vintage Aircraft will be on display, the Cadets will have a parade and there will be Beef on a Bun available with the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. The Big Band Hangar Dance featuring “All That Jazz” Big Band will take place Saturday from 7:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. The dance will be a tribute to our Veterans. Come dressed in period dress. On Sunday there will be a pancake breakfast, more displays and plane rides. Special thanks to Public Works and Community Development Parks and Recreation who are helping the YAA with set up and take down.
