PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Wilson acknowledged that he along with Mayor Maloney and Councillor Pearen attended an evening out to raise funds for Scouts Canada. The event involved a roast of MLA Greg Ottenbreit, but the emphasis was on the youth and all of the volunteers involved. The evening event raised approximately $16,000 through donations, plus a $5,000 contribution from the Kinsmen who also built a bunkhouse out at the camp. The organizer Kent Latimer and the other parents involved did a great job. He stated how good it is to see the values our youth are learning through Scouts Canada.

Councillor Pearen acknowledged that we are in the midst of the Yorkton and District Music Festival which runs for three weeks with piano, voice, instrumental and band music. Thank you to all the teachers, accompanists and all the volunteers. There is lots of talent showing. It is another one of those events where good things happen in Yorkton.
