REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
June 8, 2015

Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on Monday, June 8, 2015 in City Hall Council Chambers.

Present: Mayor Bob Maloney, Councillors Les Arnelien, Ross Fisher, Larry Pearen, James Wilson and Chris Wyatt

APPROVAL OF AGENDA(S)

PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Wilson acknowledged the Saskatchewan Provincial High School Athletics Association Provincial Tournament which was held in Yorkton on the weekend. Approximately 1600 high school age athletes attended, as well as several hundred teachers, coaches, volunteers and officials. It was a great event taking place in the community. Congratulations to all the organizers of the event.

Councillor Fisher shared information on several events taking place over the summer at Deer Park Golf Course. The Saskatchewan Junior Women’s and Men’s Provincial Golf Championships will be held on July 20-22, 2015 and the Canadian Junior Girl’s National Golf Championship will be held on August 3-7, 2015. The organizers will be looking for volunteers to assist. Following in September will be the Saskatchewan High School Championships on September 25-26, 2015.  He encouraged people to come out and watch, as there will be some amazing golf from some talented young people.

Mayor Maloney passed along a couple of Public Notices:
- York Road will be closed on June 10th to allow for CN Crossing repairs.
- A couple of new signs have been installed at the Yorkton Airport.

Presentation – Relay for Life – Request for Exemption of Noise Bylaw No. 21/1999 – June 19-20, 2015

A request dated June 3, 2015 from the Relay for Life Volunteer Planning Committee regarding a request for an exemption to Noise Bylaw No. 21/1999 to accommodate the Relay for Life event on June 19-20, 2015 was circulated for the consideration of Council. Scott Sharpe, Chairperson was present in Council Chambers to speak to this request.
