Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on Monday, September 28, 2015 in City Hall Council Chambers.

Present: Mayor Bob Maloney, Councillors Les Arnelien, Ross Fisher, Randy Goulden, Larry Pearen and James Wilson

A quorum being present Mayor Bob Maloney in the chair called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA(S)

PUBLIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Councillor Goulden stated that Yorkton is going to be hosting the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) Regional Meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the Gallagher Centre. There will be Councillors, Mayors and Administrators from around the East Central Region, as well as SUMA representatives in attendance for discussions regarding municipal issues. Mayor Maloney will be attending with Councillor Goulden.

Councillor Pearen acknowledged that The Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister of Health has designated September 28 – October 4, 2015 as Senior’s Week in Saskatchewan. This coincides with Canada’s National Senior’s Day and the United Nations Day of Older Persons. He recognized and congratulated all seniors for all of the hard work they do in the community as volunteers on commissions and committees and thanked them for all the extra time and dedication they give to make Yorkton the place where good things continue to happen.

Proclamation Request –Yorkton and District Horticultural Society – “Horticultural Day” – October 23, 2015

A letter received September 21, 2015 from the Yorkton and District Horticultural Society requesting the proclamation of Horticultural Day, was circulated for the consideration of Council. Debbie Hayward was present in Council Chambers to speak to the request.

Chris Wentzell - Director of Human Resources, was present in Council Chambers to speak to the report.

A report dated September 21, 2015 from the Director of Planning, Building and Development regarding an amendment to the HeadStart on a Home Program Policy No. 10.290, was circulated for the consideration of Council. A report dated September 21, 2015 from the Director of Planning, Building and Development regarding the relocation of a dwelling into Yorkton to 95 Smith Street West, was circulated for the consideration of Council. Michael Eger -Director of Planning, Building and Development presented the report.
