Ross Fisher
You might not know me personally, but many of you know me from my work as the Executive Director of The Health Foundation. The Health Foundation is a local charity that raises funds to purchase medical equipment for the healthcare facilities in east central Saskatchewan. The Health Foundation works with Sunrise Health Region, but is not part of Sunrise.
Much of the work I do with The Health Foundation is about building relationships, helping people to see how we can improve the services we have, and making our community an even better place to live.
Managing the work of The Health Foundation has shown I can bring groups, individuals and the business community together to work in support of the community to achieve our goals.
Yorkton will continue to see significant growth and that growth will bring challenges as well as opportunities, which means that in addition to the issues city Council needs to deal with right now, they also need to be planning for the issues that will arise because of a continuing increase in our population. The two most obvious of those are public safety and ensuring we have enough affordable housing.
Yorkton is a wonderful friendly community, a great place to live and to raise a family. We need to ensure we continue to be a safe and affordable community that people want to live in and move to.
I believe I can make a contribution to the City of Yorkton. I have a common sense approach to issues I think people can identify with and that we can use on council.
I am asking for your vote on October 28th.
Thank you.
