History of the Yorkton Active Transportation Collaborative
The Yorkton Active Transportation Collaborative uses a shared approach to increase the opportunities to use human powered transportation. The Collaborative plans and co-ordinates community led initiatives that allow the people of Yorkton to choose Active Transportation to create a safe, healthy and connected community where we live, work and play.
Active transportation includes any human-powered transportation, such as cycling or walking. Members of the Active Transportation Collaborative recognize the need to increase physical activity in the population by building relationships with the public. Key partners in the Active Transportation Collaborate include Yorkton in motion, Sunrise Health Region, City of Yorkton, Yorkton Business Improvement District, Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), RCMP, Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbors (SIGN), non-profit organizations and various other community champions.
