Yorkton Citizens on Patrol Program


Year End Report

For the period of January 1st, 2002 to December 31st, 2002

Volunteer Patrol Hours 3,725 hrs
Mileage (3 Vehicles) 41,479 km's
Incidents Involving COPP reported to the RCMP 90

The Members of COPP would like to thank all those who made financial donations to our program, without your help our program would not exist.  COPP would also like to thank the members of the RCMP for their support and assistance.  Finally a thank you to the Steno's at City Detachment for their assistance throughout the year.

Aquatic Center News


Beginning Monday, February 3, the Parkland Aquatic Center will be hosting Theme Nights. At Public Swimming each Monday evening there will be a different theme throughout the swim. These themes will teach swimmers water safety and swimming skills. The first Theme Night is Learn to Dive!

There is still time to register for the next session of swimming lessons. A new set of Monday/Wednesday lessons starts on February 10, so register now, before classes fill up!

The City of Yorkton would like to recognize citizens of Yorkton who are celebrating a "milestone birthday" or Golden Anniversary or better, by sending a letter and congratulatory certificate.

Public Notice


Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Yorkton intends to introduce Bylaw No. 2/2003, a Bylaw respecting the City's Investment Policy at the Council Meeting of Monday, January 27, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 37 Third Avenue North.

Downtown Parking

 
Free Parking: Downtown for a maximum of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, Monday to Saturday (except where otherwise posted).
 
Worry-Free Parking: You may purchase a worry-free, full-day parking pass in the downtown core at a cost of: 
$10  1 month
$20 3 months
$30 6 months
$50  12 months

Valid at all City of Yorkton parking lots found on: First Ave.; corner of First Ave. & Smith St.; corner of Third Ave. South & Livingstone St.; and Myrtle Ave.
 

Parking Meter Rates: Public Parking lots with coin-operated meters are offered for your convenience at the following rates: 
$0.10  25 minutes
$0.25 1 hour 
Maximum five-hour limit.
Including Saturday.
 
Parking Tickets: For your convenience, there is a slot located in the front entrance of City Hall for the purpose of paying parking tickets, water bills, etc.

  1. Register your 7-Digit Water Bill Account # and your 12-Digit Tax Bill Roll # with your Bank. 
  2. When you receive your bill, pay it over the phone, through the PC, or at an automated teller machine.

Gloria Hayden Community Centre

 
Walking/Jogging Track

The Kinsmen Walking Track at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre is a 140m rubberized indoor track that is convenient and removed from the elements for walkers and joggers. No bookings for the track are necessary and a variety of track passes are available. The hours of operation are:

Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday & Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Track is closed on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to allow use by the Crusader Track Club.

Birthday Parties

The Gloria Hayden Community Centre takes bookings for birthday parties. The gymnasium can be booked for games and activities and tables and chairs can be set up in a separate area for birthday presents and cake.
