Leisure Services
Request Expressions of Interest

The City of Yorkton Family Leisure Steering Committee is seeking submissions from businesses, developers, professionals, and other private sector organizations interested in developing and/or locating commercial space within the new Yorkton Family Leisure Centre. Through a design team led by Hutchinson Architects Inc., the desired commercial space and uses will be a component of a significantly larger social and recreational facility. This revitalization project will front the City's West Broadway Commercial Corridor, directly across from another major future redevelopment project.

The proposed Leisure Centre (+10,220 mē) will encompass the revitalization and expansion of the Yorkton Parkland Agriplex and Aquatic Centre, with a construction component in the order of approximately $15,000,000. The proposed Centre will feature a new leisure pool, a fitness/wellness center, an indoor soccer/flexihall, activity centers for seniors, youth and children, the curling club, the arena and a new social center 'heart', as well as associated and compatible retail/commercial activities. In addition to the social/recreational components of the building, additional parking and landscaping will be integrated into the overall site design.

Individuals or organizations interested in this exciting commercial opportunity are encouraged to contact the City of Yorkton for more information. Enquiries and Expressions of Interest shall be directed to:

Garage Sale Signs

Spring and Summer are the time of year for yard and garage sales. It is illegal to place signs of any type, including those for yard sales, on boulevards, lamp posts, sidewalks or other City property. Your best advertising is still your local newspaper. Garage Sale signs are to be placed on your own private property for location identification.

City of Yorkton Sign Regulations Bylaw #16/2003 states the following:

  • No advertisement shall be permitted which is attached to a fence, pole, tree, or any object in a public street or place.

  • No advertisement shall be permitted which is attached to or standing on the ground in any public street or place.

Signs in violation of this bylaw will be picked up at owner's expense.
