Public notice is hereby given that a poll is to be held for the election of:

Mayor: City of Yorkton 1

Councillor:

City of Yorkton 6

 
Voting will take place on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003 

from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the polling places listed below.

Polling Area No. 1 -Yorkdale Central School - 270 Gladstone Avenue South 
Polling Area No. 2 - Parkland Agriplex - 445 Broadway Street West 
Polling Area No. 3 - St. Gerard's Parish Complex - 125 Third Avenue North 
Polling Area No. 4 - Gloria Hayden Community Centre - 397 Darlington Street East

I will, at City Hall, 37 Third Avenue North, on the 24th day of October, 2003, at the hour of 12:00 noon, declare the results of the election

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

Public notice is hereby given that provision has been made for an ADVANCE POLL for the election of:

Mayor: City of Yorkton 1

Councillor:

City of Yorkton 6

The advance poll is held for the convenience of electors who: 

  • are physically disabled;
  • have been appointed as election officials; or
  • anticipate being unable to vote on election day.

Voting will take place on Thursday, October 16th, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 18th, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at CITY HALL, 37 THIRD AVENUE NORTH, YORKTON, SASKATCHEWAN.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

Public notice is hereby given that a provision has been made for a MOBILE POLL for the election of:

Mayor: City of Yorkton 1

Councillor:

City of Yorkton 6

to provide for the attendance of election officials at the residence of an elector who, because of physical disability or limited mobility, or who is a resident caretaker of an elector who is unable to attend an established polling place to vote. An elector wishing to utilize the mobile poll must apply in writing on a form prescribed by The Local Government Election Act to the Returning Officer by October 14th, 2003.

These Special Polls for voting will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003 at the following times and locations:

Independent Manor:
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Free Pancake Breakfast

 
Yorkton Fire & Protective Services is holding a 
Free Pancake Breakfast

Thursday, October 9th 
7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (approx.) 
Fire Hall (9 Smith Street E.)

Fire Department staff will be conducting various 
demonstrations during the morning. 
In addition, a Media Challenge will be held.

Landfill Hours

  
Note the change in landfill hours effective October 1st:

OCTOBER 1 TO APRIL 30

Monday to Friday: Saturday: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

CLOSED SUNDAYS AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS

Please enter not later than 15 minutes before closing to allow for material handling.

City Bylaw #16-1981 and Bylaw #9/2003 require that all loads transported to the landfill be securely fastened so as not to allow debris to fall onto the highway, offences subject to a $100 fine.

2004 Dog Licenses

 
Vaccinations and Licenses: 
Dogs in the City of Yorkton are required to have up-to-date vaccinations and licenses each year.

Pursuant to Section 3(1) of the City of Yorkton Bylaw No. 3/2003, it is mandatory for any person who keeps, possesses, harbors or has charge of or control over any dog to obtain a license before January 31st in each calendar year and place it's tag on the dog's collar.

Annual license fee rates are follows
Male - $20.00  Female - $20.00  Spayed or emasculated - $10.00 
Pups between the age of 0 and 12 months who have not yet been spayed or emasculated - $10.00
