Parks News

Pest Control
The Parks Branch is undertaking some pest control programs. Gopher control is underway in various locations throughout the City. All areas are signed and residents should stay away from these areas until the control program is completed.

The crow control program has commenced as of Monday, April 5 and will be ongoing. Control hours are between 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The crews will concentrate on control efforts on city properties. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Parks Branch at 786-1754.

Clean Up the City
The Parks Branch is seeking non-profit City of Yorkton groups that want to partner in a "Clean up the City" program. Partners would help with keeping the City clean and free of garbage. Clean up would take place in the spring, mid-summer and fall and would target entrance points into the City of Yorkton. Partners would be paid an "honorarium" for their efforts. If your club is looking for a possible fundraiser, please feel free to contact the Parks Branch at 786-1754. Efforts will be made to distribute work projects to seasonal needs of the groups.
