Public Notice
Proposed Bylaw No. 1/2006

Proposed Bylaw No. 1/2006 <originally called Bylaw No. 31/2005>

The Council of the City of Yorkton pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 1983 hereby gives notice of its intention to pass Bylaw No. 1/2006 to amend Section 16.2.3 Building Height of C-2 Arterial Commercial District of Zoning Bylaw No. 14/2003 as follows:

"The maximum principal building height is 12.6m or 3.0 storeys. Properties with front rear and side yard building setbacks greater than 9.14m are permitted to extend such height to 16.8m or 4.0 storeys."

This Zoning Amendment is applicable to the entire C-2 Arterial Commercial District, however only those properties with sufficient lot size will be impacted by this change.

The purpose of this Amendment is to allow for the far west end of the City to re-establish commercial anchors, more specifically to allow for the construction of a four-storey office building on the property hatched below. This building will be situated on the southeast corner of the property (corner of Dalebrooke Drive and Lakeview Road). The C-2 Arterial Commercial District, along with the property in question, legally identified as Block 63, Plan No. 68Y04659 is shown below:

The proposed bylaw, site plans, and building rendering for the hatched property may be inspected in the office of the Director of Planning and Engineering, City Hall by any person without payment of any fees between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, all holidays excepted and up until 12:00 noon Friday January 20, 2006. Any person may make oral or written representation to City Council at its meeting to be held on January 23, 2006 in the City Hall Council Chambers, Yorkton, Saskatchewan at 5:00pm.
