Water System Expansion

 
WATER SYSTEM EXPANSION - QUEEN STREET RESERVOIR

Sealed bids clearly marked "Bid for City of Yorkton, Water System Expansion - Queen Street Reservoir" will be received at the offices of Associated Engineering, 199 Leonard Street North, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4N 5X5 up to 2:00 p.m., local time, Tuesday, May 17, 2005.

The work involves the construction of a 17,800 m3 cast-in-place concrete potable water reservoir.

Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of Associated Engineering in Regina and Saskatoon, and the Regina and Saskatoon Construction Associations.

Contract Documents will be available for pickup by interested General Contractors at the offices of Associated Engineering in Regina on or after Wednesday, May 4, 2005 upon deposit of $100 per set, GST included.

Technical inquiries by bidders are to be directed to Associated Engineering,

Bids must be accompanied by the specified Bid Bond and Consent of Surety Company payable to the City of Yorkton.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all quotations. The lowest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted.

Notice to Tenderers


City of Yorkton 
Riverside Terrace Sewage Pumping Station,
Sewage Force Main and Water Main

Tenders are invited from General Contractors for the Construction of a Sewage Pumping Station, Sewage Force Main and Water Main for the City of Yorkton. Sealed Tenders will be received at the office of the Consulting Engineer up to 2:00 p.m., C.S.T., Thursday, May 19, 2005 and will be opened immediately thereafter.

The work includes:

  1.  Construction of a Sewage Pumping Station and related appurtenances including submersible pumps, piping, ventilation, electrical and control systems. 
  2. Construction of approximately 160 m of 100 mm dia. sewage force main. 
  3. Construction of approximately 25 m of 200 mm dia. gravity sewer main c/w manhole. 
  4. Construction of approximately 145 m of 150 mm dia. water supply main, including installation of valves.
  5. Boring and installation of piping under the Yorkton Creek.

General Contractors may obtain Contract Documents from the Office of the Consulting Engineers for a deposit of One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars, which will be refunded provided that the Contract Documents are returned in good condition within 10 days of closing of Tenders.

Each Tender must be on the forms provided and be accompanied by a certified cheque or bid bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Tendered Amount.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all tenders and will not necessarily accept the lowest tender.

Please note, that pursuant to City of Yorkton Bylaw No. 28/2002, all persons in the City of Yorkton intending to construct, erect, place, alter, repair, renovate, demolish, relocate, remove, or change occupancy of any building within the City of Yorkton are required to apply to the Building Services Office of the City of Yorkton and pay such fee as is described in Bylaw 28/2002.

The City of Yorkton Archives is looking for local stories, photographs, documents, letters, etc relating to the history of Yorkton and district. Examples: wartime, the Spanish Influenza, barbershop groups, harvest combine crews from Yorkton in the late 1940s working their way back from Texas, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, etc.
