Re: 2006 Dog Licenses

 
Vaccinations and Licenses: 

Dogs in the City of Yorkton are required to have up-to-date vaccinations and licenses each year.

Pursuant to Section 3(1) of the City of Yorkton Animal Control Bylaw, it is mandatory for any person who keeps, possesses, harbors or has charge of or control over any dog to obtain a license and place it's tag on the dog's collar. For previous license holders, you must obtain a new license for the upcoming year between October 1st and January 31st. For new dog owners, you must obtain a license as soon as you come into possession of the dog.

Annual license fee rates are follows:
Male - $20.00 Female - $20.00 Spayed or emasculated - $10.00
Pups between the age of 0 and 12 months who have not yet been 
spayed or emasculated - $10.00

When applying for a license, the applicant must provide a certificate from a Veterinary Surgeon indicating that the dog has been vaccinated against rabies within two (2) years of the date of application for the license.

Downtown Parking

 
Limited Free Parking:
A person may park a vehicle downtown on any block on any street (except where otherwise posted), once daily occupying only one (1) parking stall, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and once daily, occupying only one (1) parking stall between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for a maximum of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, Monday to Friday.

There is also free parking available in the parking lot located at the corner of Betts Ave. and Smith Street (west side).

Worry-Free Parking:
You may purchase a worry-free, full-day parking permit in the downtown core at a cost of:

$10   1 month
$20   3 months
$30   6 months
$50   12 months

Valid at all City of Yorkton parking lots which are located at the corner of First Ave. & Smith St. (east side); corner of First Ave. & Smith St. (west side of Fire Hall); Fifth Ave. between Broadway & Smith St. (west side); and Myrtle Ave. between Broadway & Smith St.

Parking Meter Rates:
1) Downtown Parking: Coin-operated meters are available for parking to a maximum of 15 minutes in certain “high demand” areas.

2) Public Parking lots: Coin-operated meters are offered for your convenience at the following rates:

$0.10   25 minutes
$0.25   1 hour
Maximum five-hour limit.

    

Parking Tickets:
For your convenience, there is a slot located in the front entrance of City Hall for the purpose of paying parking tickets, water bills, etc.

The City of Yorkton is pleased to announce the 
launch of our new history book, 

Windows On Our History

The book, written by Terri Lefebvre Prince 
chronicles Yorkton's history from pre-colonization to present day.

Windows On Our History will be available for sale at Frameworks and City Hall beginning December 22nd for the holiday season.
