Property For Sale
Riverside Meadows - Multi-Family Lots

The City of Yorkton is offering for sale 17 multi-family lots.  These lots will be released for purchase through a lot draw to be held on August 25, 2008.  Please refer to the map below for lot location, size and price. These lots are located on Good Spirit Crescent continuing north on the existing street.  These lots are zoned R-3 on the west side of the street and R-2 on the east side, which allows for the development of buildings such as, Three or Four Unit Dwellings, Townhouses, Semi-detached, Duplexes, etc.

Lots will be offered for sale – 1 per Individual or Contractor.  If there are more lots available then there are names submitted, those interested will be allowed to resubmit their name for an additional lot.  The name appearing on the request for the lot draw will be the name placed on the Transfer of Title.  Interested parties are to submit their written request to participate in the lot draw by one of three ways:

  1. Filling out the form on the web site or;
  2. Sending an email to or;
  3. Dropping off a written request to the Office of the City Clerk, located on the 2nd Floor at City Hall, 37 Third Avenue North, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

Your submission must include your Name(s), (as it will appear on the Title Transfer) along with your address and daytime phone number.  All submissions must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008. 

If entering the Lot Draw through the web site or by email, you will receive an automatic response to your submission.  If you drop off your submission you will receive a written receipt.  You will then be contacted by telephone the week of August 18th to confirm your submission and participation in the lot draw.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you have received a phone call by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20th.  If you have not been contacted by telephone at that time, please call 786-1717 to confirm that you have been placed on the lot draw list.

DETAILS OF TENDER :

The work consists of the removal of Asbestos Containing Materials, Demolition and Removal of Materials all as described in the tender documents. Bid documents can be obtained from the City of Yorkton, 37 3rd Ave North, Yorkton Phone # (306) 786–1730, on or after July 17, 2008. 

On Wednesday July 25rd, 2008 at 9 A.M. Central Standard Time, a pre-tender meeting will be held at the Fire Hall, 9 Smith Street East, for the purposes of inspection and answering questions.  Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified Cheque in the amount of ten percent (10% ) of the tendered price, payable to the City of Yorkton.

This tender is for the demolition, supply and installation of 400 square meters of sidewalk for 2008, 2009 and 2010 for a total of approximately 1200 square meters over three years.

The successful Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of sidewalk removal and new sidewalk installation including demolition, removal, concrete disposal (to designated City site), base preparation and placing and finishing of new concrete.

Leisure Services Department – Gallagher Centre

Reporting directly to the Kiosk Supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide friendly and courteous service and respond to customer inquiries, as well as distribute information.
  • Receive switchboard calls for the City of Yorkton, Yorkton Exhibition Office, Gallagher Centre and Ticketmaster.
  • Keep up to date on events in the City and all facilities to ensure effective service.
  • Handle customer complaints and forward to appropriate departments.
  • Receive bookings for all City facilities and ensure proper information is obtained from customer and that payment is processed.
  • To provide information and ticket sales for Ticketmaster and sell lottery tickets to the public, following legal requirements related to the sale and distribution of Saskatchewan Lottery, along with having to balance and account for all sale transactions.
  • Act as a call desk for emergency situations to ensure patrons have a positive experience.
  • Process admissions, registrations and memberships for the facility.
  • Responsible for Ticketmaster, Sask Lottery and Water Park cash balancing.

Qualifications:

  • One year related cash handling experience in customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of accepted procedures for handling cash, balancing transactions, and completing revenue collection reports.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • Must possess good interpersonal communications and public relation skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Must possess and maintain RCMP security clearance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Salary:                        $12.86 per hour

Part Time Pool Technician

Part Time Pool Technician  - Water Park
Leisure Services Department

Reporting to the Pool Maintenance Supervisor, the Pool Technician performs various duties related to the general operation and maintenance of the Gallagher Centre Water Park.  The focus of this position will involve customer service functions, facility maintenance, and equipment maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various preventative and routine maintenance tasks on various facility operation systems.
  • Oversee and perform a variety of tasks in the operation, maintenance, cleaning and servicing of water in the aquatic facility.
  • Operate, maintain and repair a variety of pool equipment.
  • Janitorial services for both the aquatic area and some ground maintenance.
  • Must maintain a good working knowledge of all City Standard operating procedures and The Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Requires the ability to maintain a positive and pleasant attitude while dealing with the users, general public and other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 Education
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a Pool Operator’s Certificate.
  • Experience working with water treatment systems including ozone and steam generator system
  • Computer skills specific to HVAC (building management) and AK600 (chemical feeder)
  • Self motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Possess or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • General handyman experience or experience working in the plumbing and carpentry trades would be an asset.
  • Possess and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license.
  • Possess and maintain RCMP security clearance.

HOURS OF WORK:
Shift work, evening and weekend work is involved.  (15-20 hours per week).
