Proposed Bylaw No. 5/2010

The Council of the City of Yorkton, pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, hereby gives notice of its intention to pass Bylaw No. 5/2010, which is an amendment to City of Yorkton Zoning Bylaw No. 14/2003 to allow for the use of front yard, triple garages in the Riverside Terrace Architectural Control Overlay.

The proposed zoning bylaw amendment may be inspected in the office of the Planning and Engineering Department, City Hall by any person without payment of any fees between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., all holidays excepted and up until 12:00 noon Friday February 5, 2010.

Any person may make oral or written representation to City Council at its meeting to be held on Monday February 8, 2010 in the City Hall Council Chambers, Yorkton, Saskatchewan at 5:00 p.m. All submissions must be submitted in writing by 12:00 noon Thursday February 4, 2010 to Bonnie Schenher, City Clerk.  Oral or written submissions will be considered when the Public Hearing, in respect to this application, is in session.

The Council of the City of Yorkton, pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, hereby gives notice of its intention to pass Bylaw No. 7/2010, which is an amendment to City of Yorkton Zoning Bylaw No. 14/2003 to establish fees for condominium plan applications.

The proposed zoning bylaw amendment may be inspected in the office of the Planning and Engineering Department, City Hall by any person without payment of any fees between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., all holidays excepted and up until 12:00 noon Friday February 5, 2010.

The Council of the City of Yorkton pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007 hereby gives notice of its intention to pass Bylaw No. 8/2010, which is an amendment to City of Yorkton Zoning Bylaw No. 14/2003 to increase the maximum site coverage in the R-2 Low Density Residential and R-3 Medium Density Residential zoning districts from forty percent (40%) to forty-five percent (45%).

The proposed zoning bylaw amendment may be inspected in the office of the Planning and Engineering Department, City Hall by any person without payment of any fees between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., all holidays excepted and up until 12:00 noon Friday February 5, 2010.

Activities Exchange Program

Registration: January 28, 2010 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Place: Yorkton Public Library Meeting Room

The Activities Exchange Program is a project of
Partners in Settlement and Integration in partnership with the City of Yorkton.

This project aims to support immigrant integration into the community
through sports and recreation. Activities included are
skating, indoor soccer, dance, Activity Exchange theme nights, geocaching and others.

The project is open to newcomers to Canada who are living in the area
and also to Canadians who would like to be a part
of the integration process of newcomers to our area.

Yorkton Active Transportation Collaborative

Looking for Community Membership

The Yorkton Active Transportation Collaborative plans and co-ordinates community led initiatives that allow the people of Yorkton to choose Active Transportation to create a safe, healthy and connected community where we live, work, learn and play.

The Collaborative was integral to the development of a Cycling Network Plan, which was approved by City Council as well as the installation of bike racks at local business and community facilities and various sidewalk developments.

The Collaborative is looking for interested members from the community to become involved to continue this good work.
