The City of Yorkton owns this Web site.
The City of Yorkton ("the City" or "City") either owns the intellectual
property rights in the underlying HTML, text, audio clips, video clips and other
content ("the Content") that is made available to you on this Web site
("the Site" or "Site"), or has obtained the permission of the owner of the intellectual property
to use the Content on this Site. The City reserves the right to change
the Conditions of Use from time to time at its sole discretion, and without
notice. The City reserves the right to update the Content at its sole
discretion, and without notice.
You may use this Site only if you agree to some terms.

Function of Site
The City Web Site was designed to provide the public with information on City run facilities, City sponsored events, and services provided by the City. Only information for which the Site was designed will be considered acceptable for use as part of the Content. The City reserves the right to edit and/or deny submissions of information for the Site.
The only exception to the Function of the Site would be our Links Page.

We have provided a centralized place for businesses and other organizations
to have a link on our site. The following criteria which must be met in
order to be acceptable for listing:
The organization must be one of the following:
- An organization with a current business license obtained through the
City of Yorkton. An agent working for an organization with a current
business license obtained through the City of Yorkton is also acceptable so
long as the purpose of the agent’s web site is the same as that of the
parent organization.
- A non-profit or not-for-profit organization not requiring a business
license to operate within the City that focuses on Yorkton’s needs
Historical Information
Information provided for historical or archive purposes such as that found in the
History area of the site may contain words, terms, sayings, phrases, and opinions
(or spellings of the same) that are dated or are no longer in general use. This was
done in order to maintain the historical accuracy and context from which the information
was gathered. IN NO WAY is the City suggesting that such wordings and opinions be considered
appropriate by today’s standards, and does not endorse the use of such wordings and opinions today.
A lot of ongoing work is being done to provide archival and historical information
online for educational purposes. Regrettably, due to the volume of the research work
involved, it is impossible to provide a complete account of our history. Accepting that,
the City has chosen to include only a limited number of articles, facts, figures, records,
and photos/illustrations of the history of the City, its citizens, and of the surrounding area.
This archival or historical information may include data on people, places, events, services
and/or businesses that still exist today, however, the City does not endorse said data, or that
which the data represents, by its inclusion.
The City by means of donations has accumulated a large amount of data in its Heritage Collection
and has included some of that data on the Site. The City hereby acknowledges the original owners
of said data. Other portions of the archival and historical data provided on the Site have been
provided with permission, and remains the copyright, of their respective owners.
Financial Information Services (FIS)
PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) are needed to access certain areas of
FIS, and are only given in person. It is the PIN holder's responsibility
to keep it secure, and to inform the City of any lost or misplaced PINs as soon
as it occurs.
