City of Yorkton and SaskAbilities announce Household Hazardous Waste Facility for Yorkton

The City of Yorkton, in partnership with the Yorkton Branch of SaskAbilities, is proud and excited to announce the opening of a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility in Yorkton.

A grand opening will be held at the new facility, located at 180 Ball Road, on April 22, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., which is also Earth Day. The agenda includes a BBQ, open house and presentations, as well as tours of the building. Residents also have the opportunity to bring in household hazardous waste to be disposed of properly at the facility.

In the past there has been a day dedicated annually, for Yorkton residents to drop off their household hazardous waste products. Over the years, the need for this service has increased, and has led to the opening of Yorkton’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site.

The opening of the collection site will improve our efforts to divert recyclable materials from the landfill. It will also provide residents with a convenient drop off location as well as employment opportunities. This is another beneficial and positive partnership, one of many; that the City of Yorkton has with SaskAbilities.
