Gallagher Centre   

The health and safety of patrons and staff at the Gallagher Centre remains a top priority. All user groups and patrons entering the Gallagher Centre are expected to comply with the following protocols. There might be specific protocol for different areas within the facility (Access Communications Water Park, Westland Arena, Flexihall, etc.). Individual patrons, user groups, and rentals found not following these protocols may be asked to leave the facility and risk future access to programs and services.

The Gallagher Centre is committed to providing a clean and safe facility for all to use. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Aligning with Provincial guidelines, recommendations, and restrictions for facility operations.
  • Enhanced cleaning of common, high-touch surfaces such as entrances/exits, stairway railing, counters, etc.
  • Enhanced cleaning of change/dressing rooms between users and activities.
  • Enhanced cleaning of public washrooms.
  • Promoting physical distancing.

General Public

All user groups are required to have and follow a COVID-19 response plan for their activities and rentals. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Gallagher Centre Administration, and must outline a COVID Compliance Monitor.

As per the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan, organizers must keep a record of all program attendees. All players, spectators, staff, and volunteers must sign in on arrival with name and phone number and/or email to facilitate contact tracing, if necessary.

  • Follow all posted signage and protocols.
  • The maximum number of patrons permitted in any one area is to be followed at all times. This information will be provided when arranging your booking.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your activity/rental.
  • To limit time spent in dressing/change rooms, those attending recreational programming in the Arena, Flexihall, and Water Park are asked to come as dressed as possible for their activity. Dressing room access may be limited or reduced.
  • Patrons are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Water fountains are not available at this time.
  • Do not share personal equipment with others.
  • Leave the facility promptly after your activity/rental. Do not congregate in common areas.

Gallagher Centre COVID-19 Protocols

Access Communications Water Park

The Water Park is aligning with provincial guidelines as well as national sporting body protocols for facility operations. All swimmers visiting  the Access Communications Water Park must comply with the following protocol.

Swimmers must pre-book for Public and Lane Swims and Aquacize classes to reserve space.  Program capacity has been limited as directed by government guidelines.  Walk up customers will be admitted if space permits.

 

General Public

All swimmers must have or update a program registration account through the City's recreation software: https://cityofyorkton.perfectmind.com 

  • A maximum of 100 people in total are allowed in the facility at this time. This number includes all pool patrons, guests, spectators, and staff. This number will be reduced for specific programming such as Aquacize and lane swimming.
  • Physical distancing of 2 meters should be maintained at all times.
  • Masks and face coverings must not be worn in the water.
  • Swimmers shall practice proper hand hygiene and make use of sanitizing stations throughout the facility.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled swim session. 
  • Minimize time spent in change facilities. Come as dressed as possible for your activity. Footwear must be removed in the change room entrance.
  • All swimmers must shower with soap before entering the water.
  • Pool equipment shall be limited to lifejackets for public swimming and flutter boards for lane swimming.  Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own equipment and lifejackets if possible.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Bottle filling stations are not available in the Water Park at this time. Do not share water bottles with other participants.
  • The following amenities will be not be open for use at this time:
    • Hot Tub
    • Climbing Wall
    • Steam Room
    • Sauna
  • The viewing gallery shall be closed to non-swimming patrons.
  • Emergency access routes must not be blocked by personal belongings and equipment during practice times.
  • Lifeguards shall provide emergency intervention and first aid where needed. Participants receiving first aid treatment shall wear a disposable face mask where possible for their protection and the safety of lifeguards.
  • Swimmers shall be given 10 minutes to access the change rooms to change and shower after a training session.  Shower and locker access in change rooms shall be limited to promote spacing.  It is recommended that athletes change into appropriate outerwear and shower at home.

Access Water Park COVID-19 Protocols

Swimming Lessons

  • Follow all posted directional signage and guidelines. 
  • If physical distancing cannot be maintained a mask should be worn. Masks cannot be worn by persons in the water.
  • Wash and sanitize hands regularly.  Sanitizing stations are located on the pool deck.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled practice session.  Maintain social distancing while waiting to access to the change rooms and pool deck. 
  • Minimize time spent in change facilities. Come as dressed as possible for your activity. Footwear must be removed in the change room entrance.
  • All swimmers must shower with soap before entering the water.
  • Change rooms, including showers and lockers are available, but may be limited or reduced to promote physical distancing.
  • Class sizes have been reduced to promote distancing.
  • Class start times have been staggered to avoid crowding on deck.
  • Swimming instructors will maintain social distancing from participants when teaching. A parent or guardian must enter the water to provide direct contact to beginner swimmers in all Parent & Tot, Preschool and Swimmer 1-3 classes.
  • Where there are multiple children from the same household in a class, only 1 guardian needs to enter the water.
  • Families may book up to 3 members of the same household into a Private Lesson. A guardian must be available to enter the water to assist children.
  • Families must maintain social distancing on deck. Designated seating locations are stationed across the deck and viewing gallery. Please do not move the chairs.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Bottle filling stations are not available in the Water Park at this time. Food and glass containers are not allowed in the water park.
  • The hot tub is not available for use after lessons at this time.
  • Make up classes will not be available for missed or disrupted classes.

Swimming Lessons COVID-19 Protocols

User Group

    The Facility Capacity is limited to 90 people. Rentals of individual areas is limited to the following at this time: Wave Pool - 50, Lap Pool - 40, Play Zone - 15
  • The Rental Organizer is responsible for communicating pandemic guidelines and facility guidelines to guests, maintain contact tracing for all guests, and enforce social distancing guidelines.
  • Social distancing of 2 meters should be maintained at all times.
  • Masks and face coverings should be worn where social distancing cannot be maintained.  Masks must not be worn in the water.
  • Swimmers shall practice proper hand hygiene and make use of sanitizing stations throughout the facility.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled rental session.  Access to change rooms or pool deck will be given to event organizer no more than 10 minutes before booking time under staff supervision

Private Bookings & Party Package COVID-19 Protocols

Westland Arena

Arena user groups are required to have and follow a COVID-19 response plan for their activities. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Gallagher Centre Administration, and must outline a COVID Compliance Monitor.

  • As per the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan, organizers must keep a record of all program attendees. All players, spectators, staff, and volunteers must sign in on arrival with name and phone number and/or email to facilitate contact tracing, if necessary.
  • A maximum of 30 people are allowed on the ice at this time. This includes players, coaches and trainers.
  • User groups may permit up to 30 spectators. Designated and socially distanced seating will be available. All spectators must be signed in by the user groups.
  • The user group is responsible to ensure all players, coaches, trainers, and spectators remain COVID compliant during their visit to the facility.
  • Skill development, instruction training and scrimmages are allowed, with 2 metres (6 feet) of physical distancing being observed whenever possible.
  • If coaches/trainers cannot maintain physical distancing, a mask should be worn.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • Entrance to the arena will be available on the main floor at the North Westland Arena entrance only, unless other arrangements with Administration are made.
  • Equipment bags are permitted, but must not block emergency exit routes. These routes will be marked and are to remain clear at all times.
  • A maximum of 6 participants are allowed in the dressing rooms at one time.
  • Participants will be given 10 minutes to change and vacate the facility. Showers are not available at this time.
  • Exit the arena through the north exit doors.
  • Shared equipment should be cleaned and disinfected after contact between individuals, even when not visibly dirty.
  • User groups and program participants are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Bottle filling stations are not available in the arena at this time. Do not share water bottles with other participants.
  • Gallagher Centre staff will clean and disinfect skate tying areas, spectator areas, and dressing rooms between each group.

Westland Arena COVID-19 Protocols

Gallagher Centre Flexihall

The Gallagher Centre is committed to enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of common, high-touch surfaces throughout the facility, including areas within the Flexihall.

User Groups

Flexihall user groups are required to have and follow a COVID-19 response plan for their activities. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Gallagher Centre Administration, and must outline a COVID Compliance Monitor.

  • As per the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan, organizers must keep a record of all program attendees. All players, spectators, staff, and volunteers must sign in on arrival with name and phone number and/or email to facilitate contact tracing, if necessary. 
  • A maximum of 30 people in total are allowed in the facility at this time. A maximum of 50 people are permitted for structured mini-league activities.
  • Skill development, instruction training and scrimmages are allowed, with 2 metres (6 feet) of physical distancing being observed whenever possible.
  • If coaches/trainers cannot maintain physical distancing, a mask should be worn.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • Minimize time in dressing rooms. Come as dressed as possible for your activity. 
  • Shared equipment must be cleaned and disinfected after contact between individuals, even when not visibly dirty. 
  • Bring full water bottles with you. Bottle filling stations are not available at this time. Do not share water bottles with other participants.

Flexihall COVID-19 Protocols

Walking Track and Drop in Sports

All users must check in and out at Guest Services.

  • Exit the facility immediate after checking out. 
  • Do not congregate in common areas.
  • A maximum of 30 people in total are allow in the facility. This includes all walkers and drop in sports participants. 
  • Maintain social distancing from those not within your household or extended household.
  • Shared equipment must be cleaned and disinfected after use, even when not visibly dirty. 
  • Users are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Bottle filling stations are not available at this time. Do not share water bottles with other users.
  • Follow directional arrows and traffic flow.
  • Dressing rooms are not available for walking track and drop in sports users. Come dressed for your activity. Washrooms are available and cleaned regularly.

Events and Bookings

All user groups are required to have and follow a COVID-19 response plan for their activities and rentals. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Gallagher Centre Administration, and must outline a COVID Compliance Monitor.

  • As per the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan, organizers must keep a record of all program attendees. All attendees, guests, players, spectators, staff, and volunteers must sign in on arrival with name and phone number and/or email to facilitate contact tracing, if necessary.

  • The maximum number of patrons permitted in any one area is to be followed at all times. This information will be provided when arranging your booking. Seating will be limited as per the Reopen Sask guidelines. Please do not rearrange set ups with the Event Team knowledge.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your activity/rental.
  • Catering will be prepackaged or served cafeteria style or as plated meals.
  • Patrons are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Water fountains are not available at this time. Catered events will have access to coffee and water stations in the meeting rooms.
  • No other outside food or beverages are allowed into the facility, except personal water bottles.
  • Do not share personal equipment with others.
  • Leave the facility promptly after your activity/rental. Do not congregate in common areas.
  • The Gallagher Centre is committed to providing a clean and safe facility for all to use. This includes but is not limited to:

Event and Bookings COVID-19 Protocols

Kinsmen Arena

The Kinsmen Arena has been designated a mandatory mask facility, with the exception of the Blue Room, when it is not used to support skating activities.

All user groups operating in the Kinsmen Arena must comply with the following protocol. Kinsmen Arena COVID-19 Protocols

General Public 

Arena user groups are required to have and follow a COVID-19 response plan for their activities. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Facility Administration, and must outline a COVID Compliance Monitor.

  • As per the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan, organizers must keep a record of all program attendees. All players, spectators, staff, and volunteers must sign in on arrival with name and phone number and/or email to facilitate contact tracing, if necessary.
  • Posted maximum capacities are to be followed at all times.
  • To minimize & deter mingling, the main lobby area is closed, except to access public washrooms and to access emergency exits.

User Groups

A maximum of 30 people are allowed on the ice at this time. This includes players, coaches and trainers.

  • Two entrances to the facility are available. Groups using Entrance A will have access to Dressing Room #1 and the west bleachers for skate tying. Groups using Entrance B will have access to Dressing Rooms #3 & #4 for skate tying.
  • User groups may permit up to 30 spectators. All spectators must be signed in by the user group and remain in their designated area.
  • The user group is responsible to ensure all players, coaches, trainers, and spectators remain COVID compliant during their visit to the facility.
  • Enter and exit the facility through the same entrance you came in. Spectators, if permitted by the user group, are to enter and exit through the fire exit doors on the East and/or West of the bleachers, whichever one corresponds with their team dressing area. 
  • Skill development, instruction training and scrimmages are allowed, with 2 metres (6 feet) of physical distancing being observed whenever possible.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Come as dressed for your activity as possible.
  • Attendees are to follow all posted protocols and signage that may be in place.
  • Equipment bags are permitted, but must not block emergency exit routes. These routes will be marked and are to remain clear at all times.
  • Participants will be given 10 minutes to change and vacate the facility. Showers are not available at this time.
  • Shared equipment should be cleaned and disinfected after contact between individuals, even when not visibly dirty.
  • User groups and program participants are encouraged to bring full water bottles. Bottle filling stations are not available in the Kinsmen Arena at this time. Do not share water bottles with other participants.

Blue Room

  • In the Kinsmen Blue Room, a maximum of 30 persons with face coverings and 14 persons without face coverings are allowed at this time.

Gloria Hayden Community Centre 

The Gloria Hayden Community Centre is committed to providing a clean and safe facility for all to use. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Aligning with Provincial guidelines, recommendations, and restrictions for facility operations.
  • Enhanced cleaning of common, high touch surfaces such as entrances/exits, stairway railing, counters, etc. 
  • Enhanced cleaning of change/dressing rooms between users and activities. 
  • Enhanced cleaning of public washrooms.
  • Promoting physical distancing.

General Public

All user groups are required to have and follow a Covid-19 response plan for their activities and rentals. A copy of this plan must be submitted to Gloria Hayden Community Centre Administration Office to confirm your booking.

  • All user groups are responsible for tracing, monitoring, and screening their attendees/ participants upon arrival at the facility. Screening questions can be found online through the Government of Saskatchewan.
  • Follow all posted signage and protocols.
  • The maximum number of patrons permitted in any one area is to be followed at all times. This information will be provided when arranging your booking.
  • Arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before your activity/rental.
  • To limit time spent in dressing/change rooms, those attending recreational programming are asked to come as dressed as possible for their activity. Locker room capacity will be limited to 2 people at a time.

Gymnasium Rentals

  • Private rentals and birthday parties must meet indoor gathering restrictions.
  • The bouncy castle will not be available for rental.
  • Equipment requests must be made during the booking process. Staff will have the equipment prepared at your arrival.

All private rentals are responsible for contact tracing.

  • The maximum number of patrons permitted in any one area is to be followed at all times. This information will be provided when arranging your booking. 
  • Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your activity/rental.
  • Vacate the facility 10 minutes after your scheduled time. 
  • Those attending recreational programming are asked to come as dressed as possible for their activity.
  • Locker room capacity will be limited to 2 persons at a time. 
  • Spectators will not be permitted because we cannot maintain distancing guidelines. 
  • All users will get a 15-minute reminder before the scheduled end time. Please complete your activity and vacate the space during the 15-minutes.

Gym COVID-19 Protocols

Drop In Programming

  • Pre-registration is required for all drop-in programming. Contact the Gloria Hayden Community Centre to book your spot: 

Drop-in programs will have a capacity of 16 people per program. 

  • Registration opens 5 days (or 120 hours) before the scheduled drop-in sport sessions.
  • Check-in at the office prior to entering the gym or locker room.
  • Equipment can be obtained during the check in process. 
  • Do not exchange or share borrowed or personal equipment.
  • Do not move chairs in the gym from their location.
  • Return any borrowed equipment to the drop off bin.
  • Read and follow the safe play guidelines for the program you are attending. All program guidelines will be posted in the gym.
  • All users will get a 15-minute reminder before the scheduled end time. Please complete your activity, gather equipment and vacate the space during the 15-minute window.

Walking Track

  • Walkers must not show up more than 10 minutes before their scheduled time.
  • The walking track capacity is 6 people.
  • Walk-ins may be accepted if capacity allows.
  • Check-in at the office before using the track.
  • Users are asked to come as dressed as possible. Locker room capacity is 2 people.
  • Do not move chairs in the warm up area.
  • Avoid touching surfaces such as hand and stair railings.
  • Maintain 6 feet of physical distancing from other walkers who are not part of your household or extended household.
  • Follow the safe passing guidelines for the walking track.
  • Leave the facility promptly after your walk. Do not congregate in common areas.

Walking Track COVID-19 Protocols

Courts

  • Pre-registration is required for all drop-in programming. Contact the Gloria Hayden Community Centre to book your spot: 
  • 2 persons maximum for all sport bookings.
  • Bookings must be made in advance. No walk ins will be permitted.
  • Check-in at the office prior to entering the locker room or court area.
  • Do not move chairs from their designated locations.
  • No wiping hands or equipment on the walls. You must take a towel or extra gloves into the court with you.
  • Cutthroat and tournament style games are not permitted.
  • Wallyball will not be permitted at this time.
  • No sharing of borrowed or personal equipment.
  • Must serve your own ball.
  • Courts will have a minimum of 30 minutes between bookings for efficient cleaning and dry time.
  • Users must show up no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled booking time.
  • Users must leave promptly from the facility to discourage social gathering.

Courts COVID-19 Protocols

Deer Park Golf Course 

General

  • Gathering of people is not permitted. Maintain 2 club lengths distance at all times.
  • Clubhouse (except pro-shop and washroom), restaurant and deck are closed until further notice.
  • The Pro Shop will be available to golfers at a maximum of 4 customers, at any given time.
  • South door = Entrance Only. West Door = Exit Only.
  • Washroom in clubhouse will be open with a restriction of 1 person in each at a time.
  • On-course washrooms are closed until further notice.
  • Season pass purchases and all tee time bookings must be made in advance by phone, and form of payment is required at time of purchase/booking.
  • Golfing is also available by purchasing Green Fees.
  • Pro Shop will have limited food & beverage service available for take-out.
  • All tournaments and club events are cancelled until further notice.
  • Fees and charges remain unchanged, however some restrictions apply.
  • Season passes must be paid in full prior to accessing tee times. The payment plan is suspended for the 2020 season.
  • Season pass and cart storage customers are required to agree to course restrictions and requirements.
  • Tee time reservations are limited to one person per day.
  • All tee times are open 5 days in advance to all golfers.
  • Names of golfers in each tee-time must be provided, and paid for, at time of tee-time reservation.
  • Tee times will be set 10 minutes apart until restrictions are lifted.
  • Golfers must leave the course immediately upon completion of their round.
  • The golf course reserves the right to pair golfers.
  • Golfers are not permitted to split groups once on the golf course and are not permitted to play through.
  • Flag must remain in hole. Putting protocol will be shared on laminated message on flag.
  • Jr. golfers are eligible for morning tee times before 1:00 p.m. only when accompanied by an adult green fee player or adult season pass holder.
  • One person allowed per cart unless from the same household. This includes private carts.
  • Cancelations are permitted up to 24 hours in advance of tee time with rain check held at golf course in individual’s name, for future use.
