*As of January 15th, recycling collection will occur the same day as garbage collection regardless of where you live in the City and will follow the current Tuesday-Friday collection schedule. Apartment buildings' recycling collection day may vary from garbage collection, so please use the Recycle Coach app located at yorkton.ca/waste to search for your collection day or call 306.828.2470.*

The City of Yorkton includes a $12 Recycling Levy on your residential utility bill.  This breaks down to $6 per month per residential household.  Of the $6 collected each month, $2 provides funding to the residential curbside collection program and the remaining $4 supports the Saskatchewan Abilities Council for processing the recyclable material collected.

Conservation is important and we can all make a difference.  Before disposing of material into the garbage, we must:

Rethink - what goes into the garbage
Reduce - consumption and waste
Reuse - everything you can
Recycle - whenever possible

The City of Yorkton has various ways in which materials can be disposed of in a convenient way.

FOR RESIDENTS:

For information on your collection date and to sign up for schedule reminders, information on what items can be recycled and where, visit here to use the Recycle Coach app or download the free Recycle Coach app directly to your smart device by visiting your app store.

  3. Place all other recyclable household materials (tin, glass, plastic, beverage containers) in another clear, blue bag.
  4. Put bags at curb on designated pick-up day by 8:00 am.
