Outdoor Rinks

Outdoor Rinks There are a variety of outdoor rinks located in the City. All rinks are open to the public free of charge without organized time schedules. Just stop by for some free skating and fun. Rinks are cleaned and flooded throughout the season.

Aquatic Centre News

The Parkland Agriplex Aquatic Centre Staff would like to wish everyone 
health and happiness in the New Year.

The pool is starting off this year by offering a new set of swimming lessons!!
There are lessons on:

Saturdays, starting on January 4
Mondays and Wednesdays, starting on January 6
Tuesday, starting on January 7
Thursdays, starting on January 9

The winter session is a great time to enroll your child! Since it is a quieter set, there will be more individual and personalized instructing for each swimmer. 

Registrations will be taken up until the class begins. Hope to see you all come out!

Ladies Basketball

This program is for adult ladies of any age to participate in fun, recreational basketball. It is an informal drop-in program that runs Sunday nights from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre. The program starts January 12th and runs until May 25th, 2003 with plans to start-up again in September 2003.

There is a drop-in cost of $2 per night or a session fee of $30.

The Snowmobile Regulations Bylaw

Bylaw No. 8/2000

The Snowmobile Regulations Bylaw

  1. No person shall drive or operate a snowmobile whether it is licensed or not on any of the following: 
    street, lane, avenue, highway, boulevard, park or playground within the corporate limits of the City of Yorkton.
  2. Operation of licensed snowmobiles shall be permitted in accordance with Bylaw No. 8/2000 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on the routes designated in Schedule "A" of this bylaw.
Any person who contravenes any provisions of this bylaw may face fines and/or the snowmobile will be seized and impounded for a period of up to thirty (30) days.

To report an infraction of this bylaw you can contact the Yorkton RCMP City Detachment or the Bylaw Enforcement Office. For more information pertaining to this bylaw contact the Bylaw Enforcement Office at 786-1725.

The City of Yorkton's proposed Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw are scheduled for adoption by Council in early 2003. The City of Yorkton will be hosting two public forums to provide residents and business owners the opportunity to view and comment on issues relating to the new Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw. Members of the City will be present to answer questions relating to the Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw. All citizens are welcome to attend either of the two scheduled forums. The two forums are scheduled as follows:

January 16, 2002

Commissions Of Council 2003

The City of Yorkton is inviting applications from people interested in serving on the various Commissions of Council for the year 2003. Appointments will be made early in January to the following:

  • Development Appeals Board
  • Economic Development Commission
  • Leisure Services Commission (includes Municipal Heritage Advisory, Arts Sub-Commission, and Deer Park Advisory) 
  • Municipal Planning Commission (includes Public Transit and Airport Services)
  • Yorkton Local Library Board and Parkland Regional Library Board
  • Yorkton Housing Corporation
  • Protective Services Commission
