Discretionary Use Application

The Council of the City of Yorkton pursuant to Section 74 of The Planning and Development Act, 1983 hereby gives notice of its intention to consider a Discretionary Use Application for: 

328 Second Avenue North 
Lot 63 Blk 3 Plan 00Y00270

The Discretionary Use, which is being applied for is to allow for the development of a Residential Care Home in this location.

Any person may make oral or written representation to City Council at its meeting to be held on Monday, August 9th in City Hall Council Chambers, Yorkton, Saskatchewan at 5:00 p.m. Oral or written submissions will be considered when the Public Hearing in respect to this application is in session.

City Council Meetings

Effective Monday, July 12, 2004 Council passed an amendment to Procedure Bylaw No. 45/2003 providing for all Council Meetings to be held at 5:00 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Outlined below are the scheduled meeting dates to December 31, 2004:

September 27, 2004 
October 18, 2004 
November 1, 2004 
November 15, 2004 
November 29, 2004 
December 13, 2004

Request For Financing Proposals

The city of Yorkton is requesting proposals from qualified financial institutions to provide the City of Yorkton with financing options to borrow $7,000,000 over 15 years for the construction of a new multipurpose Family Leisure Centre.

Large Format 
Aerial Photo Maps for Sale

The Planning and Engineering Department has eight aerial photo maps of the City of Yorkton available for sale to interested parties. The photo was taken August 14, 2003 and they show the City from a 1:4,000 scale. They are mounted on foam backing and are approximately 43 inches x 76 inches (3 feet x 6 feet). Cost of each photo is $50.00 (plus GST) to be paid at time of receipt and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Gloria Hayden Community Centre

This casual/part-time position will involve, but not be limited to the following: o The general operation, care and attention of the Gloria Hayden Community Centre and participants o Administration and customer service functions o Equipment set up and take down o Cash reporting, record keeping, scheduling, and general janitorial duties.

Party in the Park 2004

The Annual Park Parties are outdoor celebrations to promote the vast benefits of park spaces in the City of Yorkton. These parties are family events that also showcase some great local talent. The next party will take place on:

Gloria Hayden Community Centre
Hours of Operation

Effective July 12, 2004, the Gloria Hayden Community Centre Summer hours will be:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 
Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Closed Saturday, Sunday and all Stat holidays.
