2005 Awards of Merit

What makes a citizen great? Someone who makes our city a better place to live! They contribute their time and energy in a way that sets them apart, whether volunteering, going the extra mile, or general heroism each and every day.

Adults and youth-18 years and under may be nominated. All names must be submitted by June 30th.

The form is easy to complete and is available at City Hall, 2nd Floor - Mayor's Office. Or, you may wish to download a form.

Please enter not later than 15 minutes before closing to allow for material handling.


No person or persons shall operate any vehicle transporting wastes or other debris of any kind along or over any highway, street, lane, vacant lot, park or public place in the City of Yorkton unless the load is completely enclosed with a securely fastened cover as to prohibit any part of the load on the said vehicle finding its way to the roadway or adjacent premises.



Aquatic Centre News

Aquatic Staff Inservice 

Tuesday, June 21st 
7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Comfort Inn and Suites 
Open to all staff, and any other individuals who may be
interested in lifeguarding and instructing. 
If you are not currently a staff member, but are interested in attending, please contact Michael at 786-1745.

SCUBA Lessons 

June 27th to July 3rd 
Class times are flexible.

Three Courses Available:  

Open Water Certification ($219) 
Advanced Open Water Certification ($169)
Rescue Diver ($179) 

Registrations are now being taken in the Aquatic Centre office.

Summer Swim Session

July 11th to 22nd 
Monday to Friday for two weeks. 
Classes in Aquatots to Aquaquest 4 are now open for registrations. 
Register through the mail or by visiting the Aquatic Centre office on the second floor of City Hall during office hours.

City of Yorkton Archives

The City of Yorkton Archives is looking for local stories, photographs, documents, letters, etc relating to the history of Yorkton and district. Examples: wartime, the Spanish Influenza, barbershop groups, harvest combine crews from Yorkton in the late 1940s working their way back from Texas, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, etc.
