Fraud Advisory: Beware of Water Survey Scam

The City of Yorkton has received a report of someone claiming to represent the City's water survey, offering a prize and asking to enter a resident's home.

This is a scam.

The only official City of Yorkton water survey is the online survey at yorkton.ca/watersurvey. The City is not conducting door-to-door water surveys, and City staff or contractors will never ask to enter your home to complete the survey.

The City's legitimate water survey is being promoted through official City communication channels, including informational inserts included with July and August utility bills. Those inserts direct residents to the official online survey.

If someone comes to your door claiming to represent the City's water survey:

• Do not allow them into your home.
• Do not provide personal or financial information.
• If you would like to verify the City's official survey, please call 306-786-1700.
