Applications open for Jaycee Beach and dog park focus groups
Residents can apply to help shape the future of Jaycee Beach and the new off-leash dog park at Logan Green Flats
The City of Yorkton is inviting residents to apply for upcoming focus groups as public engagement begins for the Jaycee Beach Revitalization project and the relocation of Yorkton’s off-leash dog park.
The City has hired Praxis Consulting Inc., a Saskatchewan-based management consulting and research firm, to lead the engagement process.
Applications for all focus groups close Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Jaycee Beach Community Focus Groups
Residents are invited to share their priorities, questions and concerns about the future of Jaycee Beach as design work continues.
Two focus group times are available:
- Wednesday, September 2, from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, September 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Off-Leash Dog Park User Focus Group
As part of the Jaycee Beach project, the current off-leash dog park will relocate to Logan Green Flats, just off Queen Street.
The new location will provide more space than the current dog park, and the City is looking for feedback on how to improve the site and make it user-friendly.
Current dog park users are invited to share what works well today, what could be improved and what they would like the City to consider at the new location.
Focus Group: Tuesday, September 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Logan Green Surrounding Area Focus Group
The City also wants to hear directly from residents in the area surrounding Logan Green Flats.
Participants will be invited to share their wants, needs and concerns as the new dog park is planned. Discussion may include access, parking, noise, fencing, maintenance, amenities and other considerations that could affect the surrounding area.
Focus Group: Wednesday, September 2, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Apply:

Space is limited, and completing an application does not guarantee a place in a focus group. Praxis Consulting will contact selected participants with session details.
More opportunities to participate
The focus groups are one part of the broader public engagement process.
Additional engagement on Jaycee Beach will include one-on-one interviews with invited stakeholders, a community survey and a public open house. The community survey will focus specifically on the Jaycee Beach Revitalization project.
The public open house will provide another opportunity to learn about both Jaycee Beach and the new dog park at Logan Green Flats and provide feedback.
Residents can also follow both projects on Shape Your City:

Beware of scams
Applicants selected for a focus group will be contacted by Praxis Consulting Inc. Praxis will never ask participants for payment, banking information, passwords or other financial information.
If you are unsure whether a message about the engagement process is legitimate, contact the City of Yorkton at communications@yorkton.ca before responding.
