Dogs in the City of Yorkton must have up-to-date vaccinations, a current dog licence and should wear their dog tag issued by us. When dogs are licensed, it is much easier for Enforcement Officers and the SPCA to return a dog to its owner if lost.

Three Types of Dog Licences

• Annual: valid from January to December 31 of the current year.
• 5 year: valid through December 31 of the fifth year from the date purchased.
• Permanent: the licence is valid for the life of the dog.

Proof must be provided that a dog had their rabies vaccination within the last two years before a licence can be issued.
