Boulevards are public lands adjacent to private properties that is used for underground utilities and other infrastructure. Boulevards will sometimes separate the sidewalk from the roadway, or in other cases be set between the sidewalk and private property. In neighbourhoods that do not have sidewalks there remains a portion of land set a side as a boulevard between the street and private property.
Request a Tree
The Parks Division looks after the planting and maintenance of all trees located on City property, including boulevards, center medians, and in parks and green spaces.
Residents and business owners may request a tree planting for the boulevard next to their property. Requests are received by the Parks Division who will review the request and consult with the applicant to determine the best tree species for the property, considering tree availability and suitability of the site.
Tree Planting Guidelines
Tree planting requests will be reviewed based on the following items:
- Proximity to existing trees
