Special Events

We occasionally hold special events focused on solid waste management and initiatives. The events are in place to educate and encourage correct disposal of different types of wastes. Events range from hazardous waste disposal, to cleaning up the community and more. Watch for all of these events on our Community Calendar. 

Spring Clean Up Week

Watch for dates for 2026!! Spring Clean Up Week is open to anyone. Residents, businesses, non-profits and schools within the City can register to clean up parks, green spaces and City gateways/entry points.

Repair Café

Repair Café is a pop-up, one day community event where residents can bring in household items to be fixed for free by volunteers with the intent to have items repaired rather than throw them away. We have partnered with the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council to hold these events. More information can be found on their website.

The Repair Café relies on volunteering professionals or handy persons to repair items. If you would like to volunteer for Repair Café, contact the City of Yorkton Waste Services department at 306-786-1760.
