Logan Green Water Management System
Logan Green shows what innovation looks like in action. Since 2012, this system has been turning water treatment waste into a resource, filtering it naturally and sending it back to the Logan Aquifer. The result? Less waste, more clean water, and a healthier environment for everyone. It’s a big step toward climate resilience and a secure water future for Yorkton.
Logan Green Trout Pond
Welcome to Logan Green Trout Pond! This pond is part of Yorkton’s Logan Green Water System and has been home to rainbow trout since June 2, 2014, when 750 fish were first stocked. They started on fish pellets and now live naturally on minnows, insects, and plants. Thanks to a steady flow of clean, oxygen-rich water from the treatment plant, the trout even survive winter.
With help from the Saskatchewan and Yorkton Wildlife Federations, the pond is restocked every year. Fishing here is free, and you don’t need a provincial license—but please follow the posted rules.
