Land Development - Concept Plans

Contact Us

In  accordance with the Official Community Plan, Concept Plans have been prepared or will be prepared for development areas within the city.

Concept Plans provide a framework for growth by identifying future land uses, major road networks, and other challenges and opportunities for growth within these areas, while maintaining a balanced approach to planning that addresses the interests of the city.

Concept plans identify:

  • opportunities and challenges for development
  • environmental and heritage features
  • existing land uses
  • existing and proposed infrastructure and services
  • nature of local development pressures

Concept plans are non-statutory plans meaning they are not approved by a bylaw.  Instead, they are approved by a council resolution to adopt the plan.  Once approved, these plans form the foundation upon which development or subdivision may occur within the subject area.

Four concept plans have been approved by the City of Yorkton;

Willow Creek - Quance Park Developments Ltd. (S½ Sec. 6-26-3-W2M)

Rona Development - 101242326 Saskatchewan Ltd. (LSD 16 Sec. 11-26-4-W2M)

Boardwalk Properties Co. Ltd. (NW ¼ Sec. 6-26-3-W2M)

Jim Pattison Developments Ltd. (Block B; Plan No. 101440448)
