Job Opportunities
Full Time Instructors/Lifeguards

 
Two Full Time Instructor/Lifeguards: Primary responsibilities include the delivery of program and supervision of patrons.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Instruction of learn to swim and special event programs 
  • Lifeguard supervision of wave pool facility 
  • Some shifts will require lead hand duties

Qualifications

  • Lifesaving Instructor 
  • National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid 
  • Program delivery experience 
  • Possess and maintain R.C.M.P. security clearance and a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license

Salary
$917.60 - $991.20 biweekly

Hours of Work:      Shift work, evening and weekend work is involved.

Notice
Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP)

 
If you had Uninsured Property Damage due to the Flash Flood that occurred on June 17, 2005 in the City of Yorkton you may be eligible for assistance under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program.

You may pick up the Claim Form and information package from the Department of Planning and Engineering on the Second Floor of City Hall located at 37 Third Avenue North. These forms are then to be returned to City Hall for submission to the Provincial Government. For further information, please call 786-1730.

Please note deadline for submission to PDAP is December 17, 2005.
 

 

  

 

Traffic Alert!
BradBrooke Drive / Gladstone Avenue

 
The City of Yorkton, under the 2005 Capital Works Program and in conjunction with the Canada Saskatchewan Infrastructure Program (CSIP), will commence construction on the Bradbrooke Drive / Gladstone Avenue intersection on Thursday, September 1st, 2005. This project is expected to be completed in 3-4 weeks. During construction, efforts will be made to keep the east-west legs of the intersection open, however residents are encouraged to use the alternate routes designated in the map below.

Retirement Party

   
The City Manager, Wayne Jensen will be retiring in October of 2005. The Council of the City of Yorkton is inviting those who wish to attend a retirement party 
to be held at the Convention Centre on September 24, 2005.

The CITY OF YORKTON ARCHIVES is seeking photos, letters, and other documents relating to the history of Yorkton and the immediate surrounding area. Examples: photos of railway history, arrival of groups of immigrants, the radar base, York Lake, sports groups, Ukrainian dancing, Bobby Burns events, Barber Shop concerts, stage performances, children and youth at play, the rain, hail and wind storm of Monday, August 27, 1978, etc.
