The City of Yorkton is inviting applications from people interested in serving on the various Commissions of Council for the year 2010.  Appointments will be made early in January to the following:

  • Business Improvement District Board
  • Development Appeals Board
  • Economic Development Committee
  • Leisure Services Committee (includes Ravine Ecological Preserve Sub-Committee, and Deer Park Advisory Sub-Committee)
  • Municipal Planning Commission (includes Municipal Heritage Advisory Sub-Commission)
  • Protective Services Committee
  • Solid Waste Management Committee
  • Yorkton Housing Committee
  • Yorkton Public Library Board
  • Yorkton Airport Authority

Please provide a brief letter of application by December 31st, 2009 to the undersigned at Box 400, Yorkton, Sask. S3N 2W3.  The application should include a brief description of experience, qualifications and reasons for applying. If you require any information, please call 786-1701.

Proposed Discretionary Use for 165 & 171 Broadway Street East

The Council of the City of Yorkton pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007 hereby gives notice of its intention to allow for an Automotive Maintenance facility, located on Lot B, Block 3, Plan 62Y00237 and Lot C, Block 3, Plan 101733140, civically known as 165 & 171 Broadway Street East, as a Discretionary Use in accordance with Zoning Bylaw No. 14/2003. The use of an Automotive Maintenance facility is listed as Discretionary under the Zoning Bylaw and, as such, requires public notification before Council reviews the application and makes its decision.

The proposed Discretionary Use application may be inspected in the office of the Planning and Engineering Department, City Hall by any person without payment of any fees between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., all holidays excepted and up until 12:00 noon Friday December 11, 2009.

Any person may make oral or written representation to City Council at its meeting to be held on Monday December 14, 2009 in the City Hall Council Chambers, Yorkton, Saskatchewan at 5:00 p.m. All submissions must be submitted in writing by 12:00 noon Thursday December 10, 2009 to Bonnie Schenher, City Clerk. Oral or written submissions will be considered when the Public Hearing, in respect to this application, is in session.

Cost: $1 per person
(Age 4 and under FREE)

This gym time is intended for families
to have an opportunity to participate in
recreation together. Therefore, children
must be accompanied by an adult.

the gymnasium and equipment.
