The City of Yorkton employs Community Safety Officers (CSO) in our community.  CSOs are appointed as Special Constables in Saskatchewan.  They help prevent crime, promote safety in the community, work with the police and do some bylaw enforcement tasks.  The Government of Saskatchewan is reviewing the CSO Program and is seeking feedback on the current state of the program.  Input provided will be used as part of an overall review of the Community Safety Officer Program.  The Survey closes on June...

Coyote Activity

Coyotes, like other wildlife, sometimes visit our city.

They are generally shy and avoid humans. We're actively monitoring their activity and have placed informational signs in areas with high coyote activity.

If you encounter a coyote:

• Allow it space to leave

• Do not approach or feed it

• Be assertive: make eye contact, wave, and shout if needed.
