GALLAGHER CENTRE NAMING RIGHTS RENEWED
The City of Yorkton is pleased to announce the renewal of the naming rights for the Gallagher Centre, ensuring continued partnership and investment in the city’s recreational infrastructure. The Gallagher Family has extended their commitment for an additional 10 years, building on the facility naming rights partnership that has been in place for the past 20 years.
The renewal of this agreement reflects a longstanding relationship between the City and the Gallagher Family. Originally named after George Gallagher in 2005, the facility will remain named as the Gallagher Centre through to 2035, emphasizing the family’s dedication to supporting local and regional sports and leisure activities.
“As a City, we are truly grateful for the Gallagher Family’s continued support of recreation and culture here in Yorkton.” said Yorkton Mayor Aaron Kienle. “George and Doreen’s legacy lives on through this facility, and we’re proud and thankful to see their name remain part of our community’s story.” he said.
“Our parents always had a special love for Yorkton as this was the place where they raised their family,” said Kelly Gallagher, son of George and Doreen Gallagher. “Although both of our parents are gone their memory lives on in the Yorkton community by being attached to the amazing facility, the Gallagher Centre. Our family will always be grateful of our time in Yorkton with many wonderful memories.”
Since reopening as the Gallagher Centre in 2005, the facility has been a vital part of Yorkton’s recreational landscape, offering diverse facilities and programs to residents and visitors of all ages. The City looks forward to maintaining the Gallagher Centre name for years to come.
