City Landfill reopens with detours in place

Update: Thursday, June 2 at 9:11 a.m.

Landfill Road is now open to traffic. Please use caution while driving in the area as some construction is still taking place. 


Update at 2:50 p.m.

The City Landfill has reopened to the public with detours in place. Anyone bringing a vehicle 3 tonnes and over must use the detour to the north, and enter the City Landfill from the east entrance.

If your vehicle is less than 3 tonnes, you can use either the north or south detour to get to the City Landfill. 

Upon entry you must report to the scale house prior to dumping.

The landfill will be open today, Friday, May 20 until 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will be closed Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23 for the long weekend and resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 24.

Due to a road wash out, the City Landfill will be closed to the public until further notice. Access to Landfill Road from Highway 9 will be inaccessible until the road can be repaired.

Regular residential garbage pickup will not be affected during this time.
