Yorkton, October 3, 2023 – In response to growing concerns within the community regarding the lack of activities for Active 55+ residents, the Recreation and Community Services department of Yorkton is taking proactive steps to address these issues. On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the department will host a facilitated community conversation focused on social, cultural, and physical activities tailored to the needs of Yorkton’s vibrant 55+ demographic.

The event, which will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., is set to take place at the Gallagher Centre, marking an essential initiative to engage with and support the city’s older residents actively. The conversation aims to create a platform for discussions, ideas, and feedback from the community, ensuring that the specific needs and interests of Active 55+ residents are met.

To enhance the quality and effectiveness of the conversation, the Recreation and Community Services department has partnered with CJ Denysek Consulting. Together, they will design, implement, and manage the process, with input from various stakeholders.
