Road Closure in effect starting Tuesday, December 13, 2022

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, King Street West between Laurier Avenue and Gladstone Avenue South will be closed to traffic with detours in place. The road closure will be in effect starting Tuesday, December 13, 2022 and continue for three days, pending any unforeseen circumstances.

Please remember to slow down and watch for signage when approaching a work zone.

Structure Fire – 406 Riverview Road

At 8:40 p.m. on December 5, 2022 the Yorkton Fire Protective Services Department (YFPS) received a call for a fire on the main floor of an apartment complex. Residents within the complex were evacuated and three people were rescued from the second and third floors of the complex with ground ladders. At approximately 11:15 p.m. the fire was extinguished and YFPS secured the unit where the fire started. As the complex was closed to tenants, those displaced were provided shelter in hotels.

Snow Removal Update - Thursday, December 1

City crews completed the Snow Route Parking Ban this morning, Thursday, December 1. Referring to the Priority Snow Removal Map, crews have completed the 1st Priority Red Zone and are currently working on the 2nd Priority Blue Zone.

Roadway crews will be out in two shifts, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please refrain from parking your vehicles on the street if you live or work within the 2nd Priority Blue Zone.

When you see a work zone, please remember to slow down or take an alternate route.
