Building Permits

Please note, that pursuant to City of Yorkton Bylaw No. 28/2002, all persons in the City of Yorkton intending to construct, erect, place, alter, repair, renovate, demolish, relocate, remove, or change occupancy of any building within the City of Yorkton are required to apply to the Building Services Office of the City of Yorkton and pay such fee as is described in Bylaw 28/2002.

Aquatic Center News

Now is the perfect time to register for the spring session of swimming lessons at the Agriplex Pool. Swimming lessons are a great way to learn water safety and stay active. Registering early guarantees you a place in the class that you want. Space is limited and you do not want to be disappointed! Every level is offered including Aqua Tots and Aqua Adults.

Attention all public swimmers: 
Effective immediately all 2:00 - 4:00 public swims on Wednesdays are cancelled.

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Yorkton intends to introduce Bylaw No. 2/2003, a Bylaw respecting the City's Investment Policy at the Council Meeting of Monday, January 27, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 37 Third Avenue North.

The Snowmobile Regulations Bylaw

Bylaw No. 8/2000

The Snowmobile Regulations Bylaw

  1. No person shall drive or operate a snowmobile whether it is licensed or not on any of the following: 
    street, lane, avenue, highway, boulevard, park or playground within the corporate limits of the City of Yorkton.
  2. Operation of licensed snowmobiles shall be permitted in accordance with Bylaw No. 8/2000 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on the routes designated in Schedule "A" of this bylaw.
Any person who contravenes any provisions of this bylaw may face fines and/or the snowmobile will be seized and impounded for a period of up to thirty (30) days.

To report an infraction of this bylaw you can contact the Yorkton RCMP City Detachment or the Bylaw Enforcement Office. For more information pertaining to this bylaw contact the Bylaw Enforcement Office at 786-1725.

The City of Yorkton's proposed Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw are scheduled for adoption by Council in early 2003. The City of Yorkton will be hosting two public forums to provide residents and business owners the opportunity to view and comment on issues relating to the new Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw. 
Members of the City will be present to answer questions relating to the Development Plan and Zoning Bylaw. All citizens are welcome to attend either of the two scheduled forums. The two forums are scheduled as follows:

January 16, 2002

Business License Required

Pursuant to City of Yorkton Licensing Bylaw 7/97 and amendments thereto all business activity conducted in the City of Yorkton is subject to the issuance of a Business License.

The basis for municipal licensing is to ensure that every business or person, prior to the commencement of any activity within the corporate boundaries of the City of Yorkton, provide or obtain all necessary approvals and information required pursuant to Licensing Bylaw 7/97 and any other pertinent City of Yorkton bylaws that may from time to time be enacted or amended, prior to the issuance of the business license and to ensure that once licensed, the business or person complies with all terms and conditions of their license as set out under this bylaw.

The City of Yorkton issues license in the following general categories and applies the appropriate license fee as follows according to residency.
